Jeffrey Paclipan was born in the Philippines, to an American military father and Catholic Filipino mother. During his childhood the family moved all over the United States following his father's military assignments. Jeffrey has always been conscious of a severe conflict between values of the mainstream and of his natural self. Trapped by religion, trapped by mainstream culture, and trapped by his family dynamics, he ultimately had only his imagination to form a reality in which he could place himself. His mixed media paintings and assemblages working visceral with materials that are immediately available.
